"From Fasting to Feasting" (Zechariah 8:9-23) - Daily Manna - 08/13/26

God’s desire is not merely for religious activity—it is to form a people who reflect His character.

In Zechariah 8:9–23, the LORD calls His people to strengthen their hands, sow shalom, speak truth, walk in justice, and trust Him even when His promises seem impossible. What began as a question about fasting becomes a powerful picture of restoration: mourning turns to joy, fasting becomes feasting, and the presence of God among His people becomes so evident that the nations say, “Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.”

This teaching reminds us that God is not simply interested in what we do for Him, but in what He is producing within us. Are our lives becoming places where His truth, peace, faithfulness, and goodness can be seen?
