"Not the King We Were Expecting" (Zechariah 9:9-17) - 08/17/26

The King came—but not the way anyone expected.

Zechariah saw a righteous and saving King entering Jerusalem not on a warhorse, but on a donkey. He comes in humility, breaks the weapons we are tempted to trust, and speaks shalom to the nations. He releases prisoners from the waterless pit, calls them “prisoners of hope,” and transforms the broken into precious jewels in His crown.

In Zech. 9:9–17, we discover a Messiah whose victory looks different from the kingdoms of this world. Yeshua may not be the King we were expecting—but He is exactly the King we need.
