"30 Pieces and a Broken Staff" (Zechariah 11:1-17) - Daily Manna - 08/19/26

Thirty pieces of silver. A broken staff. A rejected Shepherd. Zechariah 11 gives a sobering picture of what happens when God’s people reject His shepherding and place their trust in voices that cannot truly care for them.

From the falling cedars of Lebanon to the thirty pieces of silver thrown into the House of ADONAI, this passage points beyond Zechariah’s day to Yeshua—the Good Shepherd who was rejected, yet willingly laid down His life for the sheep. This teaching challenges us to consider whose voice we are following, where we are placing our security, and how much we truly value the Shepherd who came to give us abundant life.

The false shepherd feeds on the sheep. The Good Shepherd gives His life for them.
