"Test the spirits." (1 John 4:1-6) - Daily Manna - 06/11/26
Not every voice that sounds spiritual is speaking from the Spirit of God.
In 1 John 4:1–6, John calls the loved ones of God to exercise discernment: do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God. False prophets had gone out into the world, claiming spiritual authority and speaking with confidence—but John gives the community a clear standard for truth.
The Spirit of God always points us to the true Yeshua: Messiah come in the flesh, the Word made flesh, the One who lived, loved, suffered, laid down His life, and calls us to walk as He walked. Any message that distorts who Yeshua is will also distort the life He calls us to live.
This teaching reminds us that discernment is not about fear or suspicion—it is about remaining anchored in truth, walking in love, and remembering that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world.
