"When the World Goes Dark" (1 Kings 17:1-9) - Shabbat - 08/15/26

The world may go dark, but the God of Israel still lives.
Elijah stepped into one of the darkest seasons in Israel’s history with a simple, powerful declaration: “As ADONAI God of Israel lives…” In 1 Kings 17:1–9, we discover that darkness never means God has abandoned the scene.
Through Elijah’s encounter with Ahab and his hidden season at the Wadi Cherith, we are reminded that God still reigns when wickedness seems to flourish, He still prepares His people in hidden places, and He still provides in unexpected ways when we walk in obedience.
When the world around us feels increasingly dark, our calling has not changed: stand faithfully, obey the Word of the Lord, and trust the living God to sustain you wherever He leads.
