"There is Still Time to Return" (Joel 2) - Shabbat Shuvah - 09/19/26

The alarm of God is not the sound of rejection—it is the sound of mercy calling us to wake up before it is too late.

In Joel 2, the shofar sounds over Zion as a warning: the Day of ADONAI is near. Yet right in the middle of judgment comes one of Scripture’s most hopeful invitations: “Yet even now…turn to Me with all your heart.” God is not interested in empty religious motions or outward appearances of repentance. He wants our hearts.

This teaching explores the powerful message of Shabbat Shuvah and Joel 2:1–14: God sounds the alarm because He loves His people. He warns us so we will wake up, turn from sin, and return to Him. And when we do, we discover that He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, and abundant in mercy.

Hear the alarm. Hear His voice. Don’t hit snooze. There is still time to return.
