When nothing seems to be happening, heaven is not inactive.


In Zechariah’s first night vision, the people of Israel are pictured as lowly myrtle trees standing in the depths—discouraged, overwhelmed, and waiting for ADONAI to fulfill His promises. Yet the Angel of ADONAI is standing among them, interceding on their behalf and revealing that they have not been forgotten.


This teaching explores the good and comforting words ADONAI gives His people: He is still zealous for them, He sees the injustice committed against them, and He will return with compassion to restore, rebuild, and cause His goodness to overflow.


When the earth seems quiet and God’s promises appear delayed, He is still present in the depths, working beyond what we can see.
