"Return Before You Rebuild" (Zechariah 1:1-6) - Daily Manna - 07/23/26
Before ADONAI rebuilds what is around us, He calls us to let Him rebuild what is within us.
The people had returned from exile and laid the foundation of the Temple, but discouragement and opposition brought the work to a standstill. Through Zechariah—the prophet whose name means “ADONAI remembers”—God reminded them that He had not forgotten His promises or His purpose. Yet His first message was not simply to resume the construction. It was a call to repentance: “Return to Me … and I will return to you.”
This teaching explores why a new work requires a renewed heart, the danger of repeating the failures of previous generations, and the enduring authority of God’s Word. People may pass away and circumstances may change, but His Word remains—and we cannot outrun what He has spoken.
