"The Open Gates at the End of the Highway" (Isaiah 62:10-12) - Daily Manna - 05/06/26

May 6, 2026    Rabbi Cosmo Panzetta

The road is being cleared, the gates are standing open, and the nations are being summoned home.

In Isaiah 62:10–12, God calls His people to stop living passively and begin preparing the way. The invitation has gone out to the ends of the earth: remove the stones, build up the highway, lift up the banner, and get ready for the arrival of salvation.

This teaching follows the imagery of the “highway” throughout Isaiah—from broken roads marked by fear, sin, and exile to the raised roadway of redemption that leads back to the presence of God. Along the way, we discover that the end of the highway is not merely a destination, but restored relationship with the Holy One who redeems, seeks out, and refuses to forsake His people.

The gates are open. The King’s salvation is coming. It’s time to prepare the way.
