Will a warning be enough… or does it take a nightmare to wake us up?
In Isaiah 29, Jerusalem looked faithful on the outside—festivals, sacrifices, the Temple of God—but their hearts were far from Him. Through vivid imagery of siege, dust, and dreams, the Lord asks a piercing question: Will you learn from the nightmare, or does it need to become a reality?
This teaching walks through Isaiah’s message to Ariel, showing how religious pride can blind us, false security can crumble, and God’s discipline is often a merciful wake-up call. Just like a bad dream that fades when we wake, God’s judgment can be sudden and gracious—meant not to destroy, but to transform.
If you’ve ever cried out to God in a crisis, only to drift back once the pressure passed, this message is for you. The Lord is still asking: Do I have your attention? Will you trust Me now?
