What do you do when it feels like heaven is silent—and the world has forgotten? Exodus opens with a shocking reminder: God hasn’t. Israel is groaning under slavery, a “new king” rises who doesn’t know Joseph, and yet ADONAI hears, remembers, sees, and knows.
In this teaching through Genesis 15 and Exodus 1–2, you’ll see how Exodus begins with an “and”—a continuation of God’s long story of covenant faithfulness. God’s promises are still moving, even through “thick and dreadful darkness.” You’ll also confront the hard truth that human memory is fleeting (even Joseph can be forgotten), while God’s memory is eternal—so the question becomes: Who are you living for?
Finally, meet Shiphrah and Puah, the midwives who chose to fear God rather than Pharaoh—showing what fearless faithfulness looks like when obedience costs you. And in the end, you’ll discover the one thing God chooses to “forget”: forgiven sin—because He delights in mercy.
