The Only Way to Run From the Outstretched Arm is to Run TO the Outstretched Arm (Isaiah 9:7-16)

In Isaiah 9:7–10:4, the prophet delivers a sobering message through a poetic refrain repeated four times: “For all this, His anger is not turned away, yet His hand is still outstretched.”

This teaching unpacks how God’s outstretched arm can either be the arm of redemption or judgment—and the only way to escape His judgment is to run to His mercy. Through four stanzas, Isaiah reveals national disaster, political collapse, social anarchy, and moral corruption—all flowing from a heart that arrogantly rejects God’s call.

Discover how this ancient warning speaks powerfully to us today, calling us not to rely on human alliances or self-confidence, but to return to the One whose hand remains outstretched in mercy.
