"When the Axe Thinks It’s in Charge" (Isaiah 10:5-19) - Daily Manna - 10/13/25

When the Axe Thinks It’s in Charge (Isaiah 10:5–19)

“Should the axe boast against the one who chops with it?” (Isaiah 10:15).  Assyria thought its power was self-made. Isaiah says otherwise. In this message, we explore how God can use even arrogant empires as tools—then judge that very arrogance to restore His order. This isn’t just ancient history; it’s a heart check for us. Are we boasting in our “own hand,” or bowing to the Sovereign King?

You’ll see:

1.    God uses tools but isn’t bound by them (vv. 5–7)

2.    Pride makes the axe forget who’s holding it (vv. 8–14)

3.    God humbles the proud and restores order (vv. 15–19)
