 Hezekiah looked unstoppable—Jerusalem still standing, the Assyrian army defeated, his sickness reversed, and now the nations are sending “fan mail” and gifts. But Isaiah 39 reveals something sobering: success can test the heart more than crisis ever did.

In this short chapter, Babylon’s envoys arrive with flattering words and offerings—and Hezekiah can’t resist the spotlight. He shows them everything: the treasuries, the armory, the wealth. Isaiah’s questions expose what’s really going on, and the Lord’s warning follows: exile is coming. And then comes the line that settles it—“As long as there’s shalom and security in my days…” That is not the heart of the Deliverer.

This teaching walks through Isaiah 39:1–8 and makes the contrast unmistakable: Hezekiah is a good king… but not the Messiah. If you’ve ever put your hope in a person, a platform, success, security, or approval—this message is a call to realign your trust. Only Yeshua saves. Only Yeshua intercedes.
