“The Ancient Command Renewed” (1 John 2:7-11) - Daily Manna - 06/02/26
The command to love is not new—but in Yeshua, it becomes new again.
In 1 John 2:7–11, John reminds us that walking in the light is not merely about what we claim to believe. It is revealed in how we love. The ancient command to love God and love others has always been at the heart of the Torah and the Prophets, but Yeshua shows us what that love truly looks like: humility, compassion, sacrifice, truth, mercy, and restoration.
This teaching explores how hatred can hide beneath contempt, resentment, exclusion, and indifference—and why those things must be brought into the light. If we say we are walking in the light but refuse to love our brother, John says we are still stumbling in darkness. But when the love of Yeshua is formed in us, the ancient command is renewed, and His light begins to shine through us.
The darkness is passing away. The true light is already shining. The question is: are we walking in it?
