The Sustenance, Security & Glory of the World Won’t Last Long (Is 21:11-17) - Daily Manna - 11/18/25
What happens when the sources you’ve always counted on for sustenance, security, and glory suddenly collapse? In Isaiah 21:11–17, caravans that once supplied others are now fleeing for their lives, hiding in the desert brush, thirsty and exhausted. The very people the world depended on are now desperate themselves. Through this sobering prophetic picture, the Lord exposes the fragility of human alliances, the emptiness of self-serving promises, and the folly of trusting in the systems of this world.
In this Daily Manna, we walk through the “burden of Arabia” and see how God uses the downfall of Kedar’s glory to remind us that everything gained apart from Him can vanish “within a year.” The sustenance this world offers runs out. The security this world promises collapses under pressure. The glory this world chases is crushed under the weight of war. But the sustenance, security, and glory the Lord offers are everlasting.
If you’re tired of scrambling for solutions, propping up your own life, or leaning on people and systems that keep letting you down, this teaching will call you back to a genuine, self-denying trust in the Lord alone. He is the only One whose word stands, whose promises hold, and whose glory never fades.
